NOTES

In the October 3, 1964 issue of Billboard magazine, Capitol T 2166 is listed in the ‘New Album Releases’ section.
This points to a date of issue in October, 1964.
Instead of being accompanied by a choir, Ms Stafford sang all of the vocal parts herself. The album’s liner notes describe it as follows: ‘Jo recorded each song three times and sometimes four, singing in harmony with herself, recording one vocal part over another. What, in effect, is heard is a small choir – with all the voices being the lovely voice of Jo Stafford, in vocal arrangements by Paul Weston’.
This is what the liner notes tell us about the instrumental accompaniment: ‘Backing her (…) is an instrumental group consisting of five electric guitars, bass, drums, chimes, bells, and Hammond organ, arranged and conducted by Jack Marshall’.
