NOTES

Jim Marshall’s and other Jo Stafford Discographies just use the title ‘Jo Stafford’ for this EP with catalog number B-1583. Probably because the record company itself used this title (or should we say: no title?) in listings of the ‘Extended Play’ records it sold. However, the title ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ was printed on the record sleeve (see image below). The University of Arizona uses the title ‘Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue’ in the index of its ‘Paul Weston and Jo Stafford Collection’.

This EP was probably issued in February or March 1953. It was mentioned in record store advertisements that appeared in newspapers in March, April, and May 1953 (the March 11, 1953 issue of The Corpus Christi Caller – Times was the first newspaper in which I saw this EP advertised).

The one image of this record’s label I have seen, does not make clear whether ‘I’m Always Chasing Rainbows’ and ‘Blue Skies’ were on side 1 or on side 2.
