NOTES

In 1954 and 1955, Columbia’s Hall of Fame series was a series of 45 rpm singles. It was re-launched, in the fall of 1957,
as a series of EP’s. One of the first new Hall of Fame discs was Jo Stafford’s EP with catalog number B-2526.
I am not perfectly sure about its date of issue. The re-launch of the Hall of Fame series was announced at the end of July, 1957. The first mentioning of this EP I found was in a record store advertisement printed in the September 11, 1957 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. This means it must have been issued early in September, maybe at the end of August. Do you have more specific information about the date of issue?

This EP is sometimes referred to as ‘You Belong To Me’ (both in contemporary ads and on record collectors’ websites). Officially, however, the EP did not have a title.
The label of this disc says Ms Stafford is accompanied by ‘P. Weston and his Music from Hollywood’. But when the four tracks were recorded in 1951/1952, the orchestra went under the less glamorous name ‘Paul Weston and his Orchestra’.
