‘I’m Comin’ Virginia’ was recorded at RCA Victor’s studios in New York exclusively for the V-Disc label.
The orchestra - credited as ‘Her V-Disc Boys’ and ‘Her V-Disc Play Boys’ on the labels of the other V-Disc Ms Stafford recorded on April 19, 1945 – was called ‘Her Men of Jazz’ on the label of this V-Disc. The orchestra’s members were: Billy Butterfield (Trumpet), Robert “Lou” McGarity (Trombone), Henry “Hank” D’Amico (Clarinet), Boomie Richmond (Tenor Sax), Henry “Billy” Rowland (Piano), Henry “Hy” White (Guitar), Jack Leaberg (Bass), and George Wettling (Drums).
‘I’m Comin’ Virginia’ includes a spoken introduction by Jo Stafford.
