NOTE
Maybe this single was not issued in January 1951, but in December 1950. Billboard magazine states, in its December 23, 1950 issue (and, again, in its December 30, 1950 issue) that Jo Stafford’s and Gene Autry’s version of ‘My Heart Cries For You’ was one of the available versions of this popular tune.
Judging from its catalog number 39086, one would think this single must have been issued at the same time as ‘If’, Columbia 39082 – a record that had not been released yet at the end of 1950 (it is mentioned in the ‘Advance Record Releases’ section of Billboard’s December 30, 1950 issue). However – the fact that rivalling versions of ‘My Heart Cries For You’ were high in the charts in December 1950 already, might have urged Columbia Records to release this disc earlier than planned.
