NOTES
The first mentioning of this album I found was in a Columbia Records advertisement in the January 17, 1953 issue of Billboard magazine (under the heading ‘New Pop Releases’). That’s why I believe it was issued in January, 1953 – not, as Jim Marshall’s Jo Stafford Discography states, in 1952.
According to this advertisement, the album was available in two versions: “lp” CL 6238 and 45 Set B-328. Columbia did not produce a 78 rpm version, apparently.
The EP-set ‘Jo Stafford Sings Broadway’s Best’ is distinct from Jo’s EP ‘Broadway’s Best’ (Columbia B-1660), which contained four of the album’s tracks and was issued later in 1953.
