The musicians accompanying Ms Stafford on April 19, 1945 – credited as ‘her V-DISC Boys’ on the labels of other discs for which she recorded that day – were suddenly transformed into ‘her V-Disc Play Boys’ on this disc…
Her V-Disc Play Boys were: Billy Butterfield (Trumpet), Robert “Lou” McGarity (Trombone), Henry “Hank” D’Amico (Clarinet), Boomie Richmond (Tenor Sax), Henry “Billy” Rowland (Piano), Henry “Hy” White (Guitar), Jack Leaberg (Bass), and George Wettling (Drums).
‘Bakery Blues’ includes a spoken introduction by Jo Stafford.
